December 2009 Archives

In an earlier article Fanhouse had probed Mr. T on whether or not he might be paying a visit to the A-Team set. He sounded doubtful, but the fans still held out hope that he might make have a cameo appearance in the film as his costars Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict had previously confirmed.

The Latino Review bumped into the actor over the holiday and got the final word on the subject.

He said it wasn't about money, because he turned down the chance to appear in the film before that was even discussed. He said it just wouldn't be right for him to be in it. If his B.A. isn't the main guy, then why do it? What's wrong with the film that they need him to make a cameo? Plus they would market the film with him being in it, and he didn't want his friends and family to think he would have some big role when he wouldn't. He told me he has nothing against the cast or even the fact that they're doing a remake. But a cameo is just something he wasn't interested in. He said he's very happy with his life right now and enjoys giving back to the community.

You might not know the name Matt Fehr, but chances are you've heard some of his work. Fehr operates a small recording studio in the basement of his Toledo home. Known professionally as Mighty Wyte, Fehr has been writing and producing songs for movies and television for years. Most recently composing a song for the background of a scene in "The Blind Side" with Sandra Bullock.

A long time fan of The A-Team, Fehr wrote a hip-hop version of the theme song several years ago. When he heard of the plans for a feature film Fehr rushed the song to his agent to submit to Fox. Fox consented under one condition, that Fehr get a major name involved with the song.

With the help of a co-writer in New York, Fehr soon got a call from Fredro Starr from Onyx. "Yo, that track's crazy! We're gonna get on it, we're definitely gonna do it." Onyx was recorded as saying by the toledofreepress Fehr's hometown newspaper. Onyx was so taken with Fehr's work that they asked him to produce their next album.

Fehr shows off his small workspace to his youtube fans in the video below.
